Introduction

American Ginseng Series

Origin: Wisconsin, USA

Wisconsin, USA, is a world-renowned high-quality planting area for American ginseng, ensuring that it can fully absorb the nutrients in the soil. In addition to its high ginsenoside content, Wisconsin ginseng is characterized by its sweet aftertaste, long cooking endurance, and strong aroma, unmatched by other production areas.

① Grown at 45 degrees north latitude, in fertile glacial deposit areas, where the soil is rich in natural organic matter and various minerals.

② Sown in virgin land that has never grown ginseng, with no replanting within 50 years.

③ Ample rainfall, with an annual average precipitation of approximately 760 mm.

④ Distinct seasons, with warm summers and cold winters.

Scientific Planting and Harvesting According to Time

① Sowing seeds

In fall, ginseng farmers sow American ginseng seeds into plowed fields, carefully covering them with a layer of straw about 6 cm thick to keep the seeds warm.

② Sprout stage

After one year, the American ginseng sprouts into small seedlings, with roots as tiny as earthworms.

③ Growth period

Farmers build black tarp structures to provide a suitable environment for the ginseng. After two years of careful nurturing, the ginseng leaves grow lush, and the roots grow to the size of a pinky finger.

④ Mature period

After 3-4 years, when the American ginseng berries are fully ripened and red, they can be harvested. The berry skins are washed off, and the seeds are mixed with sand and stored in a cool place, ready for planting in the next fall.

⑤ Harvest mature ginseng

Snow usually begins to fall in the U.S. in October, so farmers m-ust harvest the ginseng before the snow arrives. This busy harvest period is referred to as the “busy farming season” by local farmers.

The Edible Value of American Ginseng

American ginseng stands out for its balanced properties, making it suitable for people of all ages. It does not cause overheating or dryness in the body, which makes it a gentle and versatile health supplement. It is known for boosting energy levels, supporting blood circulation, improving kidney and digestive functions, promoting vitality and longevity, and enhancing skin health. American ginseng also has a wide range of medicinal benefits that contribute to overall well-being.

① Enhancing Central Nervous System Function:

The ginsenosides in American ginseng can effectively enhance central nervous system function, helping to promote calmness, reduce fatigue, and improve memory. It may be beneficial for those experiencing insomnia, irritability, memory loss, and symptoms associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

② Protecting the Cardiovascular System:

Regular consumption of American ginseng can help prevent arrhythmia, myocardial ischemia, and myocardial oxidation, as well as strengthen myocardial contraction. For patients with coronary heart disease characterized by a deficiency in both energy (qi)—the vital force that supports and warms the body—and hydration (yin)—the fluids and nutrients that cool and nourish the body—symptoms such as palpitations and shortness of breath can be effectively treated with long-term use of American ginseng.

③ Boosting Immunity:

American ginseng, as a top choice for energy-boosting and health
maintenance, promotes the synthesis of serum proteins, bone
marrow proteins, and organ proteins. This helps to strengthen the
body's immune system and improve overall health.

④ Promoting Blood Vitality:

Long-term use of American ginseng can reduce blood coagulability, inhibit platelet aggregation, prevent atherosclerosis, and promote the growth of red blood cells, thereby increasing hemoglobin levels.

⑤ Lowering Blood Sugar:

American ginseng can reduce blood sugar levels, regulate insulin secretion, and promote glucose and fat metabolism, providing an auxiliary effect in the treatment of diabetes.

Methods of Consumption

① Lozenge Method

Steam American ginseng in a clay pot with water until it softens, then slice it thinly and store it in a clean glass or ceramic jar. Take 2-4 slices each morning before breakfast and after dinner, chewing slowly before swallowing.

② Powder Method

Grind American ginseng into a fine powder. Place 5 grams of the powder into a cup and pour boiling water over it, covering the cup for about 5 minutes before drinking. The ginseng can be steeped multiple times until the flavor diminishes.

③ Stewing Method

Slice American ginseng and use 2-5 grams daily. Place the slices in a ceramic bowl, add an appropriate amount of water, and soak for 3-5 hours. Cover the bowl and place it in a pot to steam for 20-30 minutes. Consume the ginseng half an hour before breakfast.

④ Steaming Method

Dry American ginseng over low heat, grind it into a fine powder, and take 5 grams each time. Mix with one egg, steam until cooked, and consume.

⑤ Soup Method

Slice American ginseng thinly and add about 10 grams when making soup.

⑥ Infusion Method

Place 30 grams of American ginseng in a clean container and soak it in 500 grams of your preferred liquor (40-60% alcohol). Seal the container for 7 days before consuming. Drink 20 ml twice a day on an empty stomach. Refill the liquor as needed and consume the ginseng when the flavor fades.

⑦ Boiling Method

Slice American ginseng and place 3 grams in a clay pot with an appropriate amount of water. Boil over low heat for about 10 minutes. Consume both the ginseng slices and the broth on an empty stomach before breakfast.
